Barbara's Blurb for week of Jan. 28, 2015

by Barbara Libby

Sitting here in the Conference Office this Monday morning as we await continuing updates on the incoming BLIZZARD … I confessed on my Facebook Status on Sunday afternoon, “Okay… So that snow I have been hoping for? It’s coming!! It did not have to come all at once though…”

So first, I confess that I love snow… I know that is not true for all of us and I may take it back later in the week if this storm truly does make as big an impact as they seem to be suggesting.

And here’s another confession: I love snow days! I love having a day when I can slow down and just “be” for a while, make a puzzle, do some extra reading, and stay cozy.

Now I also confess: I do not have to shovel or plow – I rely on others for that, so I can just sit back and enjoy. I know that is not true for all of you reading this and I pray for your safety.

The kind of prediction that we currently have does sound a little overwhelming! The threat of lost power, no heat, no running water, etc. etc. can be a bit more than we would hope for.

This day I send up prayers for safety for all who do have to handle the impact of this storm. I also invite you to think about those who live near you who might be unable to accommodate for the emergency conditions that may arise. Be aware of any who may need your help in the days to come.

Blessings to all!
