The Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), is also known as Human Trafficking. This presentation will include the following topics of discussion: what puts youth at risk, how they get targeted, and the tactics that traffickers use to lure them and trap them. How human trafficking effects victims, the signs that someone is being trafficking, how we can better respond to them, and researched therapies that work will also be included.
The Statewide Protocol that has been developed in the last few years, and Day One’s role and their MultiDisciplinary Team (MDT) as well as The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAD) and the Law Enforcement Advocate (LEA) will also be discussed. The CAC is where victims of abuse and neglect come to do forensic interviews. The goal of the CAC is that children will only have to tell their story once, in a safe and comfortable room. The LEA, works for Day One but have offices in the actual police departments.
